Construction Begins on Longleaf Wellness Center

04.10.2023

Byrom Building, a Birmingham, Ala. based custom residential and commercial builder, has started construction on Longleaf Wellness Center, a primary mental health outpatient facility in Hoover. The 15,365 square foot building will be built adjacent to the Birmingham Recovery Center in the International Park office complex off Acton Road.

The developer for Longleaf Wellness Center is LIV Development. Shannon Waltchack Broker Michael Murray, CCIM represented the seller, Byrom Building in the sale of the property.

“We are delighted to be involved in building this important community resource. The private, peaceful setting at International Park Place is perfect for Longleaf patients and staff. We are actively seeking buyers/users for the last remaining lot on this conveniently located site,” said Colt Byrom, president of Byrom Building.

Longleaf Wellness Center is the first of three facilities being developed in Alabama as part of Longleaf – a partnership between Birmingham Recovery Center, LIV Ventures, and EBSCO Industries. Longleaf Wellness Center will offer partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program with a capacity of 60 clients. The two other Longleaf facilities, Longleaf Recovery Center – Madison and Longleaf Recovery Center – Baldwin County, will provide substance abuse recovery treatment while also serving as a substance abuse recovery resource for the community.

“This is an exciting milestone for Longleaf,” said Robb Crumpton, LIV’s chief executive officer. “We’re one step closer to making mental health services and substance use treatment options more accessible across

the state.”

The mental health epidemic is a growing problem across the nation, particularly in Alabama. The state ranked 50 out of 51 in Mental Health America’s 2022 Access to Care ranking. This statistic is just one of many that highlight the state’s vital need for additional mental health services.

Construction of Longleaf Wellness Center is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2024.

There is one remaining lot available for sale at International Park Place. Contact Michael Murray, CCIM at [email protected] or 205-382-1896. For more information on the available lot, visit the property website.
